Altar Guild
In 2007 the members of the Cathedral Altar Guild continued their ministry of service to liturgical worship at St. Andrew’s. We currently have 40 parishioners as members of the altar guild. The primary responsibility of the members is providing the support in preparation of the sacred vessels and linens for five weekday and three Sunday services, in addition to the numerous seasonal services, funerals and weddings. The Altar Guild is responsible for maintaining our liturgical hangings and linens as well as ordering the bread, wine and other supplies used in our worship. In addition to the regular cleaning and maintaining of the sacred vessels, linens, and crosses in preparation for Easter and Christmas in 2007, the Altar Guild coordinated major service events by its members to assure our facilities were in exemplary condition to augment our worship experience here at the Cathedral. Finally, in 2007 the Altar Guild held a luncheon and training session with the clergy to share our common experiences and to familiarize all members with the regular and changing needs of our ministry. We welcome those interested in giving of their time and talent to the Altar Guild and give thanks to those members who presently serve.
