Children and Youth Formation
Sunday morning education programs use a Scripture lectionary-based curriculum that is age-appropriate and deals with real life problems. We want our youth to know the love of Christ and to trust in Christ as they make their spiritual journey.
EYC (Episcopal Young Churchmen and Churchwomen) and Acolyting are other programs offered for youth at St. Andrew's.
Key components of EYC include building friendships that last a lifetime, learning to put one's faith into action in the community, and celebrating one's life in Christ.
Acolytes undergo an intensive and comprehensive training program in which they are taught customs and traditions of the church, their specific duties, responsibility and teamwork. Sixth graders study and train for the acolyte ministry in the spring. It is hoped that service as an acolyte will enhance the development on each young person's faith. The acolyte has the opportunity to serve God by serving his family at services on Sundays, Holy Days, and at weddings.
