Communications Commission

This newly functioning commission has made major inroads in defining and addressing all communications of St. Andrew’s. The scope of communications is broad and a fully integrated communication system will take time to put into place. The challenges presented by the broad demographic profile of our Parish requires different means of contact to be effective. Significant steps have been made in identifying channels of communications within the staff and within committees and commissions.

 Newsletter & E-pistle

Immediate attention has been given to a more comprehensive newsletter conveying in hardcopy news and photographs of the Parish activities. Electronic mail is growing in popularity. The E-pistle is proving to be an excellent communication tool for immediate notification of parishioners.

Website

A large and evolving project is the revamping of the website which will be a dynamic tool. Beyond informing our members it is hoped it will be a welcoming spot for visitors.  Digital recordings of sermons are being posted on the website and CDs of services will soon be available.

Welcoming Visitors

Immediate attention is also being given as we live into our mission in welcoming the stranger with new information cards in the pew. Directional signage throughout the Cathedral for visitors is being developed.  Technology  to visually introduce our Parish is being used with the photographic slide show in the rotunda featuring recent Parish life events. Strategic advertising is being  considered for greater outreach to potential members.

This is an exciting time and we don’t want to be hiding our lamp under a bushel basket.
